Coffee Latte Body Cream

Recently, Carolyn asked if we would consider reformulating our Coffee Butter Latte Cream to include Coffee Oil. I had been considering reformulating and Carolyn gave me that extra boost of encouragement to make this new formulation!I made the light formula that uses Isopropyl Myristate to help reduce the greasy feeling of the cream. I also used a few different oils to work with the ingredients that I had available in my cupboard. The biggest changes that were made were using Colorless Jojoba instead of Avocado Oil, Orchid Extract instead of Red Raspberry Seed Oil and the addition.

Let’s go make this perfectly coffee body cream!

Weigh all ingredients except the Orchid Extract, Vitamin E Natural, and Liquid Germall Plus into a microwave safe container. Heat in the microwave using short time bursts until everything is melted. Blend the ingredients to a smooth, creamy consistency using the immersion blender. Add the Orchid Extract, Vitamin E Natural, and Liquid Germall Plus once the temperature drops to approximately 120° F in the mixing bucket. Stir gently until completely mixed. Pour into containers and allow to cool completely before labeling.

Body Cream Notes: This cream is similar to the original light recipe with a slightly lighter texture and a stronger coffee odor. When first applied this cream feels heavy, but it quickly absorbs without leaving the skin feeling dry. I would apply this cream after a shower and not need another body moisturizer for the rest of the day!

Now that we have made this cream, what do you think? Would you make any changes to ingredients or would you leave as is? I would like to make this recipe again, only using Orange Butter next time.
