Hemp Oil Face Cream

The weather is changing again, and that means my skin needs some extra TLC. Today I wanted to make an easy face cream that is rich and moisturizing, yet light and creamy. While there are a lot of great oils to choose from, I wanted to use our Natural Hemp Oil.

Hemp Oil is a medium to heavy weight oil that gives creams a silky texture. Hemp Oil is very similar to Avocado Oil so if you don’t have any Hemp on hand, feel free to substitute for what you do have. I thought the silky texture the Hemp Oil provides would be perfect for our face cream! The Natural Hemp Oil also gives the finished face cream a rich, warm color. I designed this recipe so that a little will go a long way. This cream is a rich face cream, and I would consider it to be a night time moisturizer. I didn’t add any fragrance to the recipe because I didn’t want to have any irritation on the skin. Personally, I think it is best to leave face products unscented since they are applied so closely to the nose, and the skin on the face is very delicate.

300 grams Water
32 grams Hemp Oil, Natural
16 grams Hydrovance
12 grams Isopropyl Myristate
12 grams Emulsifying Wax
4 grams Stearic Acid
12 grams Orchid Extract
10 grams Green Tea Extract
2 grams Liquid Germall Plus
Recipe in Ounces
10.58 oz Water
1.13 oz Hemp Oil, Natural
0.56 oz Hydrovance
0.42 oz Isopropyl Myristate
0.42 oz Emulsifying Wax
0.14 oz Stearic Acid
0.42 oz Orchid Extract
0.35 oz Green Tea Extract
0.07 oz Liquid Germall Plus
Recipe in Percentages
75% Water
8% Hemp Oil, Natural
4% Hydrovance
3% Isopropyl Myristate
3% Emulsifying Wax
1% Stearic Acid
3% Orchid Extract
2.5% Green Tea Extract
0.5% Liquid Germall Plus

Weigh everything except the extracts and Liquid Germall Plus into a microwave safe container. Heat gently until the oils and waxes are liquid. Using an immersion blender, stir the mixture well. We don’t want the lotion to separate on us! Once the lotion is below 120°F, add the Liquid Germall Plus, Orchid Extract, and the Green Tea Extract.

At this point, I like to scoop my lotion into a plastic bag so I can pipe it into my jars or bottles. Once the containers are filled, cap and label them. Enjoy!
