Light Daily Hand Lotion

Yesterday we made our intense hand treatment. As nice as it is, the cream is not something you can apply in the middle of the day and then go back to work. I wanted to make an ultra-light lotion that could be applied without making the phone, keyboard and paper greasy. Come join me for this light, daily hand cream that is perfect for sitting on the any desk! In this formulation, I used Hydrovance. The Hydrovance will help keep the skin soft and hydrated without feeling sticky like glycerin. It is light and doesn’t seems to leave a residue like other humectants seem to do. When trying for a lotion that can be applied without marking any papers, this is the perfect humectant! This formulation also includes Peach Kernel Oil. Peach Kernel Oil is light and non-greasy oil. This will also help keep the lotion light and prevent it from being heavy and leaving marks on everything. Peach Kernel Oil is also an oil that is very marketable. A major plus! Sunflower is another a light oil. It is also high in oleic acids. This means that it has a longer shelf life. There is nothing worse than a lotion that contains an oil that has gone rancid. Sunflower is a great oil that helps avoid that problem. Isn’t that fantastic? I think so.I also used Veggie Wax in this formulation. It is still somewhat of a new emulsifier to our catalog. I wanted to create a lotion that would be vegan friendly while trying out this emulsifier. What do you think of our Veggie Emulsifier?

Weigh all ingredients except the additives (Fragrance and Optiphen) into a microwave safe container. Heat in the microwave using short time bursts until everything is melted. Blend the ingredients to a smooth, creamy consistency using the immersion blender. Add the additives once the temperature drops to 120° F into the lotion. Stir gently until completely mixed. Pour into bottles or jars and allow to cool completely before labeling. Enjoy!
