Martin Luther King Day is a federal holiday observed on the third Monday in January. In 2014, it falls on Jan. 20. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, also known as Civil Rights Day, is a very special and important day.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: ‘What are you doing for others?'”
This encourages each and everyone of us across this nation to come together and to serve our neighbors and communities. The MLK Day of Service is part of the United We Serve, the President’s national call to service initiative. All Americans are asked to work together and provide solutions to our most pressing national problems.
As today is Civil Rights Day, there are some important announcements that need to be made. Today, the Post Office is closed. No orders will ship if they have been ordered using this method.
