Orange Butter Lip Balm
This...
Let me just start by saying I love my job. Most of my day is helping people over the phone, through email or in person how to make exactly what they want. I love talking people though the math and helping them realize that balancing their check book is more work than creating a lotion. I love hearing the success stories. I love hearing what you are passionate about. It is amazing and I just love it. Consider this comment made by Linda. (I loved it so much, I just had to share!)
I MADE LOTION!! I really made LOTION!! You guys ROCK! I was intimidated at first but after going through the blog site and reading and reading I jumped in and I MADE LOTION!!!
I used distilled water and hemp butter and hemp oil and emulsifying wax and stearic acid, fragrance and preservative. Tinted it a pretty mint green color. Bottled it in 8 oz. bottles with your pretty pump tops and voila – I MADE LOTION!!
Thank you again for your blog site and all the work you put into it.
Linda
I am so THRILLED that Linda just made her first batch of lotion. If you have never made lotion before, you will be amazed at just how simple it is. If you can make a cake using a cake mix, you can make lotion. I wanted to make a lotion inspired by the ingredients Linda used. Come join me!
I really like this lotion because it is light, fluid and easy to apply. With the weather moving from winter into spring, my hands have been very dry and threatening to crack. This lotion immediately soaked into my dry skin with minimal effort. I love that my skin was more flexible and typing on my keyboard didn’t threaten to split the skin on my knuckles. I even had one gal here in the office comment, “That smells good. What fragrance is that?”. I love that the Middle Earth is such an intriguing scent yet is clean and fresh smelling. I can’t wait to hear what everyone thinks about the samples!

Recipe:
Recipe in Grams 8 grams Hemp Butter 16 grams Hemp Oil, Refined 12 grams Emulsifying Wax 2 grams Stearic Acid 1 gram Middle Earth Fragrance Oil 1 gram Liquid Germall Plus 360 grams Water |
Recipe in Ounces 0.28 oz Hemp Butter 0.56 oz Hemp Oil, Refined 0.42 oz Emulsifying Wax 0.07 oz Stearic Acid 0.04 oz Middle Earth Fragrance Oil 0.04 oz Liquid Germall Plus 12.7 oz Water |

Weigh everything except the Middle Earth Fragrance Oil and Liquid Germall Plus into a microwave safe container. Heat gently until the oils and waxes are liquid. Using an immersion blender, stir the mixture well. We don’t want the lotion to separate on us! Once the lotion is below 120°F, add the Liquid Germall Plus, and the Middle Earth Fragrance Oil.
At this point, I like to scoop my lotion into a plastic bag so I can pipe it into my jars or bottles. Once the containers are filled, cap and label them. Enjoy! Don’t you love how simple that was?! I know I do!
Do you have a story you would like to share? We would love to hear from you!
Note: We made a double batch so we would have plenty for samples for this shipping department. If you want a sample in your next order, just let us know in the comments field of your order. We will happily tuck one into your order for you!
