Orange Butter Lip Balm

Spending time with my girlfriends is always a treat. Some days it reminds me of high school sleep overs with all the magazines, bubble gum and music. While the magazines have changed and the bubble gum has been replaced, Girls Night is still fun. During my last Girls Night, we got started talking about makeup and cosmetics. We discussed which brands we love, which things we would get if we could ignore the budget and how makeup is so different from even five years ago.
One product that came up during our discussion was facial oils. I must admit, the term facial oil was a bit of a mystery to me. So off I went to my local beauty supply store. It turns out facial oils are typically used once or twice a day after you cleanse your skin but before you apply your traditional moisturizer or foundation. I did get to try some while in the store and while I did find some that I really liked, I found many to be cost prohibitive. Today I wanted to make a own facial oil while staying true to the DIY craft and to a budget. Come join me!
Ingredients Golden Jojoba Oil Castor Oil Evening Primrose Oil Borage Oil Vitamin E Acetate Orchid Extract Green Tea Extract Seabuckthorn Extract Squalane Isopropyl Myristate |
Equipment Scale Mixing Container Spoons Pipettes |
Recipe:
Weigh everything into a mixing container. Stir the mixture well. Pour the face oil into a bottle. While you can use an Amber Glass bottle with dropper for a sophisticated and elegant look, I really like using the 1 oz dropper bottle. I can use it one handed and I don’t have to worry about it breaking during a klutzy moment of mine. They just simplify everything! Label the bottles and enjoy your face oil!
