Orange Butter Lip Balm

Sometimes your skin just needs some extra exfoliation.
Winter is surely that time for me, so I’ve been thinking a bit outside the box about a scrubby lotion to be used before showering.
Here’s the idea: create a lotion that contains the hydrating power of Hydrovance as a humectant and the natural exfoliating power of ground luffa. Add some oils and butters, a bit of fragrance to surround you while you apply it, and we’ll be good to go.
Apply the lotion BEFORE you bathe, focusing on those parts of your skin that get extra dry. For me, that’s my lower legs, arms, and hands. As you rub in the lotion, the loofah will gently exfoliate. You’ll be left with loofah sticking to your skin; don’t be alarmed! As you wash in the shower, that will disappear and leave your skin refreshed and softened.
Let’s make it!

Weigh water, Hydrovance, Squalane Butter, Sweet Almond Oil, and Conditioning Emulsifier into the container. Microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring between each heating, until everything is melted.
If using a double boiler, place those five ingredients into the top of the double boiler and gently heat, stirring often, until all ingredients are melted.
Use a stick blender to create the emulsion, blending thoroughly.
Allow lotion to cool below 120ºF, then stir in Ground Luffa, Liquid Germall Plus, and fragrance. Stir very well to combine, then scoop into jars, label, and enjoy!
I loved the effect on my skin when using this just before jumping into the shower. You’ll definitely want to try this one!
