Simple and Easy Gifts - Melt & Pour Soap

Melt & Pour Soap

This is a fun and easy item for those last minute gift ideas that you are looking for. You could make several of these soaps and put into a small gift basket, wrap it up all pretty and it is perfect for neighbor or co-worker gifts.

Items to collect:
Melt and Pour Soap

Method of heating the Melt and Pour soap: microwave, stove, etc.
Suitable container or pot for melting soap

Stirring spoon or similar tool
Fragrance of choice
Containers and labels for finished product

I decided to make my soaps in the Happy Holiday Theme Mold; this will be perfect to put into small baskets.

I started with smaller chunks of the Melt and Pour soap, roughly the size of a softball (not necessarily softball shaped) and placed in a large pot on the stove set at medium heat until all melted.

I measured out 12 ounces of soap into a microwave safe container. This allowed me to fill 3 cavities on the themed mold that I chose. Whatever container you choose to use you will need to do a little calculation to determine the amount of soap to use.

Once the melt and pour soap was melted I added Check the Fragrance Calculator for specific amounts , I used 5ml of Vanilla Hazelnut fragrance oil to my soap and mixed well before pouring into the mold. Wow, that was easy!

*Any order placed at thesage.com by midnight on December 18, 2013 will be shipped this year, so get your gift making ideas going see what you have in your cupboard and if you need to order do it by Wednesday.
