Orange Butter Lip Balm

Good morning everyone! 🙂 Today’s blog is a recipe for a cuticle cream that I just had to share. I hate to admit it, but I am a nail biter, and I have been ever since I can remember. The cold Utah weather and nail biting is a deadly combination that results in hang nails. Ouch!
I have had enough of sore, red fingers, so off to the blog kitchen. One of the main ingredients in this recipe is Conditioning Emulsifier, which is used to make lotions and creams. This emulsifier is excellent for hair and skin, it leaves a soft powdery feel, that is exceptionally mild and is non-irritating. Another ingredient in this recipe that is great for the skin is Shea Oil. For this recipe I decided to use the Semi Solid Shea Oil, it is thick but still fluid making it perfect for a cuticle cream. My container of choice for this recipe is our Lip Brush Pens. They are great for applying cream directly to the cuticles. This recipe makes about 7 ounces of material, which will fill a little over 100 Lip Brush Pens.

To make this Super Cuticle Cream you need to weigh everything except for the Liquid Germall Plus and Lavender 40/42 Extra into a microwave safe container. Then heat gently until everything is melted. Let the mixture cool to under 120° F, once it is cooled you can add the preservative and Lavender Essential Oil. Using a pipette fill the Lip Brush Pens, it is easier to fill the Lip Brush Pens if the mixture is melted completely so you may have to reheat slightly while filling. Snap the brush tops and caps on the pens and you are set!
