Special Request Lotion

Recently, during a stocking stuffer class, I whipped up a great room spray that I used to bribe Dirk. :-) I needed to get him to work on my computer.

This weekend while we were all working over-over time I realized we had no lotion. I mean what kind of a shop are we if we don't have any lotion lying around (mine specifically)? While everyone left to go on a lunch run I got busy making some lotion so I would stop complaining.

Dirk put in a \'special request\' for his own bottle that contained the same tantalizing smell as his room spray. As my creative juices began to flow I saw only one slight problem, the room spray had been made up from a little bit of this and a little bit of that, none of which I had written down anywhere. Oops. Well, so much for special requests.

Anyway to make a long story painless let's just say that when the day was over the shop was well equipped with a variety of fragrant lotion combinations. I thought maybe some of you who are deprived of lotion (like myself) might like to try the Special Request Formula Dirk is hoarding.

This was made on the blog on January 11th, 2010.

Ingredients:

    1.25 grams Citric Acid
    5 grams Liquid Glycerin
    10 grams Stearic Acid
    21 grams Emulsifying Wax
    7 grams Mango Butter
    16 grams Avocado Oil
    19 grams Apricot Kernel Oil
    10 grams Colorless Jojoba Oil
    5 grams Shea Butter, Refined
    16 grams Sunflower Oil
    388 grams Distilled Water
    3.5 grams Germaben II

0.9 grams Pixie Dust Fragrance Oil
    0.6 grams Jasmine Fragrance Oil
1 gram Vanilla Cream Fragrance Oil

Instructions:

Combine citric acid, liquid glycerin, stearic acid, emulsifying wax, oils and water. Weigh Germaben II and fragrance but don't combine with other ingredients just yet!

Heat oil and water mixture in microwave until all water is hot and stirring shows all wax is melted. If more time is needed heat for a few more seconds.

Mix well. Double check for wax particles on spoon or immersion blender. Allow to cool just a bit and then stir in fragrance and Germaben II. Stir well to ensure complete dispersement. Pour into bottles.
