INCI: CI 42090 (Blue 1) & Castor (Ricinus communis) Oil
Blue darkens, deepens, and makes colors cooler. I was worried about using blue in my lip balms to make mauves and plums (my favorite lip colors), but oh, the color was great! There would be no way to do these fabulous colors without the blue.
Remember, a little goes a long way!
Cold Process Soap: purple with pink swirls
Glycerin Soap Base: not suitable
Lotion: not suitable
Bath Salts: not suitable
Lip Balm: Perfect! It makes cool red a plum color or yellow a green color (tint)
Body Butter/Salve: Perfect as long as no water soluble ingredients are added
Sugar/Salt Scrubs: Perfect as long as no water soluble ingredients are added
Massage Oils: Perfect as long as no water soluble ingredients are added
