Green tea has long been used in medicine as a health benefiting supplement. We wondered, could this ingredient really work in a fixed oil to impart a nice feel to the skin? We were quite surprised to find we really like green tea butter! We have used it in lip balms, hand creams, and in soap. The dry desert climate sure has proven to be tough on skin here. Green tea products just seem to have a life of their own. Be sure to tell us what you think. We want to know what you observe!

feels great!

I am newish to making DIY skincare (I did a lot when my grown daughter was a baby, getting back to it and excited to get back to it with a lot more options. I have blended this with mango butter and jojoba oils as a base for lotion bars with beeswax. I like that it doesn't have a strong smell or super greasy feel. I also made a balm that I have used on my face while it is so cold and I feel like the elasticity in my hands especially has snapped back. I wish I had taken before and after pictures, but I was just hoping to prevent chapping, cracks, and bleeding. I was not expecting my hands to look 20 years younger. It was easy to work in and had a reasonable melting temp for mixing. I also added matcha green tea extract, reishi mushroom, rosemary oleoresin, sea buckthorn seed oil and some essential oils to the face balm, with a smidge of white mica. It came out the prettiest color green too (one of the essential oils was blue tansy). I will definitely be getting more.
