Daily Oatmeal Scrub - Day 2

Yesterday when I ground the oatmeal, it still was a little coarse. There were partial pieces of the rolled oats and I felt it was just too much. Today I decided to grind it longer and my result was more of an oat flour. I think I would rather have it somewhere in between because the finer the oatmeal is, the more gummy the scrub becomes.

I am glad I decided to add the Natrasorb. If I hadn’t been working with oat flour, the texture would have been perfect.

I also reduced the percentages of the essential oils. I loved the overall blend but felt it was just a little too strong. I wanted something more subtle, like the products you find at a high end spa. I can’t wait to take some of this to my esthetician. I am sure she will love it!

Recipe:

Place a container on your scale and fit it with a bag. This helps with clean up and mixing. Weigh all of the ingredients together. Remove the bag from your container and mix well. You want to make sure you don’t have any clumps from the essential oils being added. Once the mixture is fully mixed, spoon the material into jars. You can even use one of our fabulous shaker bottles for less hassle in the bathroom.

I was much happier with today’s recipe. Besides changing the particle size of the oatmeal, I would leave everything else as is. Because the oatmeal was so fine, this lost a lot of scrubbing capability but that is easily remedied next time. After use, my skin felt smooth and clean. I also like the the essential oil usage rate was lowered. It makes this product more like the products used when I go for a facial. Now I can keep up with my skin in-between appointments and I could be happier. Try this recipe for yourself or for friends and family members. I am sure they will love it!

To use shake approximately half a teaspoon of the dry scrub into your hand. Add a little water and rub your hands together creating a creamy paste. Gently rub the mixture into the face, using a small circular motion. Massage your face for 1 minute, then rinse thoroughly. Because this scrub is designed to add water only when it is intended to be used, we don’t need to worry about a preservative. This takes a lot of worry and math out of this product!
