Facial Cream

I’ve been working on a face cream because I was inspired by an e-mail we received from Karen. She requested a good face moisturizer recipe and I was thinking that I would love formulating a new recipe just for Karen.

I wanted to use our new Cherry Oil because it is a light weight oil and helps soothe dry skin. I felt that using this oil would be a treat for the face. I loved using the Cherry Oil in this recipe and I was happy with the feel it contributed to this face cream.

I chose the Rose Hip Oil as it is a nice oil for use in skin and face care products. I wanted some of that extra pampering from rose hips to make the face cream a daily treat.

Also I wanted to keep this face cream simple, I didn’t add any ingredients like extracts or additives. If you would like to change this formulation slightly, I would recommend using up to 3% in additives and/or extracts and decrease the Cherry Oil by the same amount you use.

Weigh all ingredients except the additives (Liquid Germall Plus, Vitamin E Natural, and Angel Type Fragrance Oil) into the microwave safe container. Heat in the microwave using short time bursts until everything is melted. Blend the ingredients to a smooth, creamy consistency using the immersion blender. Add additives once the temperature drops enough that you don’t feel like you are burning your hands when moving the mixing bucket. Blend until completely mixed. Pour into bottles and cap the bottles. Allow to cool completely.
