Here I am again with another lotion recipe. I am a fan of making lotion from scratch. I like adding the ingredients and I get excited when I am able to get the exact amount of a certain ingredient weighed. I’m sure you know what I am talking about. Sometimes you go a little over or under the exact amount that you need of an ingredient but when you hit that exact number it is like a little victory!A friend was talking to me the other day (while she was trying my latest home concoction) and she mentioned that she was considering buying an expensive anti-wrinkle cream for her face because she is at the age where it is starting to show a little around the eyes. I told her that there was no way she should be paying ridiculous amounts of money for stuff like that and I could come up with something fabulous for her.
Since I, too, need to be wary of the fine lines and wrinkles that come with age, I wanted to come up with a light lotion (are you starting to understand now that I am a fan of light lotions for the face?) that had some awesome extracts in it good for firming up the skin and reducing fine lines. I chose Horsetail Grass Extract, Comfrey Leaves Extract, Orchid Extract, and Ivy Extract. Can you tell that this is going to be awesome for the face? I also put in a little Vitamin E Acetate.
Now, I am going to give you 2 formulations today because I love to play with ingredients to see how they change since I am new at lotion making. Both formulations today are exactly the same except for one ingredient. The first one I used Sweet Almond Oil for a lighter feel. The second recipe has Avocado Oil for those that want a heavier lotion on the face.

Instructions
Begin by weighing all ingredients except for the Vitamin E, extracts, and Liquid Germall Plus. Melt in the microwave in short bursts, stirring in between bursts, until Emulsifying Wax is completely melted. Mix well with an Immersion blender. When lotion is cooled, add the Vitamin E, extracts, and Liquid Germall Plus. Stir well. Add to your containers.
Stay tuned for tomorrow. I am changing up this recipe again!
