Sugar Scrubs - Less is More

I started my soap, lotion, lip balm and scrub making journey several years ago and I have shared many of my successes and my failures with our readers. With all of them, I am able to look back and laugh. Especially regarding my failures. I have done some doozies! I really appreciate being able to look back and see how much I have grown and how much more skill and experience I have today. (I even like having the photographic evidence, though that wasn’t always the case!)

I also like going back to some of my earlier recipes and realizing that I did such an excellent job in creating the recipe. For a while, I certainly had a point where I wanted to add nearly every single luxury oil to my recipes. Every. Single. Recipe. It took realizing that I didn’t have an unlimited budget and realizing that sometimes, keeping a recipe simple can create some of the most exquisite results. By keeping the ingredient list simple and short, you allow each of them a spotlight they might otherwise not enjoy.

Today I want to showcase a recipe where a less complicated ingredient listing will make for a show-stopping sugar scrub. Let the quality of your ingredients speak for themselves. You will find they are able to shout loud and clear when the recipe is kept simple.

Recipe:

Weigh all of the ingredients into a large mixing container. Stir until the mixture is cohesive. Package into jar, label and enjoy!
