We all have had a blemish at least once in our lives. (Some of us wish we had them less.) However, it is a fact of life that we all get them. I wanted to make a soap that was refreshing and useful in cleansing the skin. I used Tea Tree in this soap. Come join me for a fresh and cleansing soap with a little blemish buster to boot. :-)I used clay in this soap because because clay lends a silky sensation when using a soap. Blemished skin is often irritated and sore. I wanted a soap that was smooth and gentle on the skin. No need to make something awful any worse!
I also used Emu Oil in this soap. I was so impressed when I used Emu Oil in a lotion, I just had to use it in a soap. I think it lends a softer silkier sensation to the skin. Try some Emu Oil in your soap! See what you think. I highly doubt you will be disappointed with the results.
When making this soap, I had a couple of “oh duh” moments. First of all, I forgot that excessive heat accelerates trace in a batch of soap. Second, I forgot Rosemary Extract accelerates trace in a batch of soap. For many of you who are soap makers, I am sure you can foresee a problem here. When I first mixed the soap, it accelerated trace so quickly it separated. Argh! This is so aggravating! You can bet I won’t forget this next time!
