An Old Football Injury Special

We all have, or have had, our own version of an old football injury. The stories of our football injuries can be highly exciting or from the more mundane part we call “daily life”. For some of us the pain is crippling, and for others, we learn to shut up and ignore it as best we can. Sometimes we need a little extra help so we can just think!

I recently had my own “old football injury” flare up. It hurts enough that I have been rather distracted. So, I wanted to do something a little special for everyone who has ever had an “old football injury”.

I want to help everyone create the perfect ice pack. Most ice packs work pretty well if you want to keep something cool for a short period of time. They warm up quickly which can mean you need to rotate through three or four ice packs before you are finished. Old football injuries can require so many changes of gel style ice packs, these style ice packs can be a little troublesome. The style of ice pack we will be making today is very cold and for deep muscle injuries. It must be wrapped in a towel or two before being applied. Do not apply directly to skin!

To make your own “football injury” iceman pack, you will need isopropyl alcohol ( also known as rubbing alcohol) and water. You will need equal parts by volume. So if you only have 1 cup of isopropyl alcohol, you will need 1 cup of water. Fairly easy, all things considered.

However, if you have ever used a traditional zip lock bag for ice cubes, you know that they are not always the most durable to deal with freezing and melting over and over again. So what is a girl (or guy) to do?! Well, this is part of why I am doing this blog. There is a small special included!

If you have order any of our botanicals such as Alkanet Root Powder, Annatto Seed Powder, Kelp Powder or even Paprika Powder, you have seen some cool, silver space-style bags. These Mylar bags are great, heavy duty, durable bags. They are sealed with an impulse sealer so if you have an impluse sealer, you are all set! If you don’t have an impulse sealer yet, I highly recommend them. They are so easy to use and are a time saver as well as making you look professional. We use the impulse sealer to close shrink bags, make bags and even close tea bags!

All you have to do to get one of these bags is to request one in the comments field of your next order. It is that easy! Just write “I want a bag for my old football injury.”

However you got your football injury, sometimes a little help is all that is needed. Don’t worry. If the story is embarrassing or boring, I’ll help you cover with a more exciting story. After all, mum is the word.
